01/11/2009 - DELTA LLOYD BANK GOES LIVE ON SAP

Opteon today announced that Delta Lloyd Bank has gone live with SAP ERP accounting modules FI and CO to replace their previous legacy system mainframe based Medior. The SAP ERP implementation was part of larger implementation based on the Thaler on SAP solution (for more information on Thaler on SAP please visit www.cw-thaler.com). This implementation completes the existing core banking solution and replaces the bank’s general accounting system. With Thaler on SAP, Delta Lloyd Bank now also benefits from a state-of-the-art general and analytical accounting system, seamlessly integrated with the core banking operations handled by the Thaler platform.

Delta Lloyd Bank firstly went live with Thaler in 2004 to manage its securities, followed by loans and payments processing. Building on the strength of the existing relationship, Delta Lloyd Bank selected Thaler on SAP last year to replace its existing accounting system, and improve the efficiency and accuracy of its accounts reconciliation process.

This platform will look to provide a single source of truth to the bank, by storing operational, accounting and analytical data in one system, dramatically improving the bank’s reconciliation processes. In addition, Thaler on SAP provides the bank with a comprehensive audit trail from general accounting to operational data, answering Delta Lloyd Bank’s regulatory and internal reporting requirements.

Opteon has been subcontracted by Callataÿ & Wouters, based on their specific SAP ERP experience, combined with their financial business expertise and large experience in providing customer tailored SAP ERP training. The combination of Callataÿ and Wouters banking experts and Opteon’s SAP ERP knowledge proved to be the right choice in delivering the expected processes in SAP ERP within the provided time constraint. The SAP ERP modules went live on June 1, 2009, followed one month later with the complete Thaler on SAP solution.

Reference Banking Solution

Crucial aspects in the delivered solution were the full integration of SAP ERP standard payment and banking processes with the global Delta Lloyd Bank Thaler application. Opteon consultants were able to configure these processes in SAP, providing also the necessary control mechanism embedded in the various processes. SEPA (Single European Payment Area) was also introduced by integrating the SAP XML generated output files with the Thaler SEPA banking module.

This implementation completed the first Thaler on SAP platform to go live, whereby Delta Lloyd Bank will act as a reference throughout the banking community.

Opteon will furthermore apply their Align To Continuity Solution map to provide third level SAP ERP support to Delta Lloyd Bank.
